Qara Bagh Region
The following photos give an impression of the remoteness and ruggedness of the Qara Bagh region with the villages of Nai Qala, Sada and Gawmurda.

Our first project in Nai Qala
An Impressive Transformation
Between May 2007 and December 2008, the Nai-Qala Association carried out a first project in the village of Nai Qala. This set of photos illustrates the dire conditions of in which pupils and teachers had to work until the new school is constructed, as well as the remarkable change this school project has brought for the children and the region.
Everything began with a dream and a formidable hope: to build a school in the region of Nai Qala, largely isolated and forgotten by all.

The region remains very isolated but the school shines as a symbol of hope in the midst of a harsh and at times overpowering nature. The life of the children remains difficult, but they are determined to study and build a different future.

Children of the region used to study under very precarious and harsh conditions, but they never gave up. They always had a deep desire to learn.

Many donors believed in this project and their extraordinary support has made a world of difference for a thousand girls and boys from the region. Today they study under a roof, in dignified conditions.

A Community Involved
The impact of the project on the village community goes far beyond providing a school building. The community is engaged and excited, with optismism and a totally changed, positive view of the future.

The inscription on this plaque reads: "This school is the result of a dream, a commitment and the vision of Taiba Rahim (Nai Qala Association), of the support of the population of Nai Qala and of the remarkable work carried out by the Etimad construction company (2007-2008)."

Our new project in Sada

The existing school in Sada was built in the early 1990s and is now largely improper for study. Cracks have appeared and children spend long hours studying outdoors.

Donors and Project Supporters
Thankfully, our projects are winning the attention and support of local Swiss communities, schools and organisations, as well as receiving recognition and help from people around the world.
The local school of Duillier, part of the Esplanade Primary and Secondary Schools of Begnins, made an admirable achievement in collecting a large sum of money for the Nai-Qala project.
